ABSTRACT. – The flood analysis on the river Căpuş, from July 3th, 2009 The Căpuş river basin have an area of 112 km2, at an altitude of 698 m, it is a transitional step to the Someşan Plateau. The drainage basin determines the conditions of formation of surface and shallow runoff. The morphographic and morphometric elements of the basin Căpuş has been influence during the meeting, surface drainage and flood parameters. The torrential rainfall, with high intensity, from runoff area, elongated shape of the basin, the slope of high slopes, petrography, soil and vegetation specific for the drainage basin, favored a very rapid concentration of water in the river bed. The flood of July 2009 is a special, because hydro-meteorological conditions for the generation and development. It is a local flood, since the adjacent drainage basins have not significant rainfall. The rainfalls from the upper basin of the river Căpuş, it was not measured because the pluviometric stations in this area does not exist. They have been referred by the locals and sent Căpuşu Mare hall and the dispatcher SGA Cluj. The flood crest exceeded the gauge flooding at the hydrometric station Căpuşu Mare exceeding 10 cm, reaching 330 cm (CI = 320 cm), and the flow was 64.3 m3/s. Analysis of the flood is important for determining the establishment of new rain gauge stations warning training in areas of runoff, in places Mănăstireni and Bedeciu.
